The trial between telephone corporations
Everybody must know that a minute is composed of sixty seconds. I was surprised to know that for some prepaid phone card developers one minute - only 36 seconds. A lot of reputed companies asserted that it can't be any upright competition if one of rivals has unjust advantages before the beginning of a rivalry. IDT/UTA (Union Telecard Alliance) corporation decided to sue the different corporations-providers of prepaid phone cards for the unjust rivalry circumstances on a telephone services market.
That is hard to believe, but several dishonest card promoters give just about 60% of minutes, that were prepaid for. In November 2007 Total Call International, Inc. and IDT/UTA have reached a full settlement of the suit brought by IDT Telecom, Inc. and Union Telecard Alliance, LLC versus Total Call. Earlier IDT/UTA began enforcement procedure versus the group of defendants for three times. Today there is a roll of another defendants comprises about six corporations and some of them are: Epana Networks Inc., Dollar Phone Corp., etc.. That incomplete action is still on approval in the federal court in Newark, New Jersey. To let everybody know the new telephone facility terms and payment methods, one of the corporations placed the advertising information on their blog. One of the characteristics he was proud of was the ability to determine the length of the minute to as long as you want. Another characteristic was to randomly deduct a minute from your account. Moreover, they mentioned that it is standard on all prepaid calling cards platforms. I didn't believe that it was true. But today when I saw IDT communique, I understand that they were probably right.
If you can primitively count, that you should make a rough calculation how many minutes you will get on your account buying an international phone card. The ratio is 100 units by just $1! You need to choose properly the cards to be assured you're buying what you pay for. The corporations, which have been involved in that story, promised to return all the minutes to their client as soon as possible. IDT/UTA thinks that until all accused have consented to adhere to this standard, it is beneficial for the continued prosecution of that lawsuit to have a streamlined process with fewer defendants. They have to agree to promote industry good practices and standards that protect customers of pay before hand card services and that establish a level playing field for all corporations that promote, and supply telephone services for, pay beforehand cards. The mechanisms, that will exactly examine all the operations connected to the pay beforehand cards, will be developed by that companies. The parties also assented to undertake efforts to promote such standards among all prepaid card business and to promote independent monitoring of compliance with such standards.
