In 2007 Sophos released its monthly list of worldwide Link Spam Statistics from April to June 2007 which reveals China and the USA as the utmost lawbreakers when it comes to states spreading unsolicited e-mail. But, European states have combined higher percentage of junk e-mail than the United States do having their 19.6 percent. The worldwide spam is now increasing and in relation to 2006 it has gone up by 9 percent. The leaders of junk e-mail list with the exception of USA and China are: South Korea with 6.5 percent junk e-mail, then Poland with 4.8 percent, Germany with 4.2 percent, Brazil 4.1 percent, France 3.3 percent, Russia 3.1 percent, Turkey 2.9 percent, UK with 2.8 percent, Italy with 2.8 percent and India with 2.5 percent.
According to Carole Theriault, main protection consultant of Sophos, people learned the machines to circulate spam all over the world and now there are lots of that sorts of machines, but using CAPTCHA system and Anti Spam procedures recipient can avoid getting the unsolicited e-mail. She also that that to strive against the unsolicited e-mail countries have to be concerned. “That is no unexpectedness in fact that compromised machines can circulate messages all over the world” announces the chief of technology at Sophos Asia Pacific, Paul Ducklin. He warns that spammers are prepared to use computers unduly from any location in order to send e-mail spam.
